Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive at the AVA Outpost, where you will be greeted by our friendly office staff. You will let us know you’ve arrived, take care of any outstanding financial matters, and sign waivers. You will then meet your guide, who will outfit you in your climbing harness and helmet.

(**NOTE: if you are bringing children under 18 who are not your children, please make sure to bring waivers signed by their parents! You may not sign for them.).

Make Like a Monkey

We’ll head to Granite Gorge, about five minutes up the road, where your adventure begins. After a short hike into the gorge, you’ll start learning all the basics from your guide. Depending on how much you want to learn, you’ll cover such things as rope management, knot tying, belaying, setting up anchors and more. You can attempt climbs on several different routes of varying difficulty. You’ll also do a couple different rappels, from 30 to 75 feet!
